Apparently if it's fried...

he'll eat it! Twice recently we've been in a restaurant with Mimi and gotten something fried. Once it was fried pickles, and the other time it was onion rings. My child who won't try any kind of meat or vegetable because of the texture LOVED both things! (As well as Ranch dressing randomly!) The onion ring pictures are from my phone, and the pickle pictures are courtesy of Aunt Katey! (Oh yeah, and Becky found a typo! I took care of it.)

Eating with a Spork

The Tent

I built a tent for Thomas the other day. He was not nearly as excited as I was about it, but was very excited about getting to play with the flashlight. Oh well, maybe in a few more months.

Cake

Mimi made Thomas Chocolate Gooey Butter Cake for his birthday. It was SO yummy!

Golf Clubs

For Thomas' birthday Mimi and Papa got him his very own golf clubs. He was very excited to try them out! Sometimes he wanted to do it himself, and sometimes he let Daddy help him. Papa even got in on the action.

Basketball Goal

For Thomas' birthday we got him a basketball goal. He loved playing with Drew and Landon's goals when we went to Georgia, so we thought he'd like to have his own. He loves playing with it and wakes up many mornings saying "Goal? Goal?" Here is a little video of the first day we had it.

Birthday Cookies

For Thomas' birthday we made cookies for his Mother's Day Out class. I knew I needed to send something not messy since it was going to be a bunch of 1-2 year olds eating them. Thomas helped me, which at first was fun. He then however started eating copious amounts of dough, to the point that I had take him off his chair and move it away from the counter. He was NOT a fan of this at all! But, I did let him eat some green sprinkles and he was a BIG fan of that!

I'm Sorry...

...that you don't have my pediatrician. She is the BEST ever! We went today for Thomas' two-year well visit. (I have a two year old!) Just if you're wondering he's 34 inches tall and weighs 25.6 pounds. But, that's not what this post is about...

Our pediatrician is just so caring and helpful. She doesn't make me feel like she's in a rush, she answers my questions thoroughly, and seems to take extra special care examining Thomas. I leave her office feeling like we have the best kid, and like we're doing the best possible job! And even though she probably makes every parent feel like that, I don't care because she makes me feel like that! :) And the way she says things are so encouraging, but don't seem fluffy. I don't feel like she's saying nice things just to say nice things. She seems VERY sincere!

My pediatrician that I had when we lived in Georgia did NOT make me feel like that! In fact I often left her office feeling discouraged rather than encouraged. And I have a very healthy, active, normal child! I shouldn't have felt like that! So, I just want to say that I'm SO thankful for our doctor!

And those of you that don't have kids can relate too, because everyone can appreciate a doctor that does a good job, as opposed to one that doesn't!

And extra kudos to Papa John for getting us in to her even though she wasn't taking new patients. We now know why-because no one wants to leave her, EVER!

Thomas' Favorite Books

Thomas loves to have these books read to him over and over again! Some of them surprise me just about every time he brings it to me, but he sure likes them! I'd love to have anyone else's kids favorites! (As you can see I took some of these pictures off of amazon.com. You can't actually take a peek from my website. Sorry!)

The Masters 2008

Brax's Uncle Jim had two extra tickets to Wednesday's practice round/Par 3 Tournament at the Masters and so Brax and I got to go! It was so fun, and just as gorgeous as Brax has been telling me for the past seven years! The azaleas were amazing, and the grass looked fake it was so pretty. We got to see A LOT of famous golfers. Tom Watson, Phil Mikelson, Sergio Garcia, Justin Leonard, Adam Scott, Jim Furyk, Geoff Ogilvy, Arnold Palmer and of course my main reason for going, Tiger Woods! We saw his caddy come out and so got in a line to wait for him to come out. He walked RIGHT by us! He was close enough to touch and I was quite star struck! Although we had to check our sunscreen at the gate and got very burnt it was such a fun day!

South Carolina

Thomas and I made a visit to Uncle "Lawlos" and Aunt "Lally" in Greenwood. Aunt "Bucky" was there too, and we had a great time! I hosted my first Uppercase Living party. Thomas got to throw LOTS of pinecones over the fence to Onyx and Dantes. And he got to feed the fish in the pond. Plus there was an early birthday party complete with decorated cake, Horton Hears a Who party decorations, and presents! It was a fun weekend!

Easter

We had a great Easter at Uncle Jim and Aunt Mary's. Thomas got to play with his cousins Jack and Charlie, but Emma wasn't there because her baby sister Ella had been born the day before. After lunch we went up to the hospital to visit! Of course there are no pictures of that! :)
