Thomas' First Day of PreK

Thomas started PreK on Tuesday. He is so excited to be going to school. He's going to be going three days a week from 9-1. He was registered at one school, but there was one closer to home, where a lot of our church friends go, that he could go to three days a week instead of four. He was on the waiting list and we prayed that God would have him be in exactly the right place. When I was in Fayetteville I got a call that he was in! I have been so pleased with the director, his teachers and the facility. I think it's going to be a great year for him! These pictures are the first day.

I asked him if he wanted to be dropped off or walked in. He chose to be dropped off (which is really the teachers getting them out of the car and walking them in).

 

BACKSPLASH!!!!!!!

Since we have moved into our house we have not had a backsplash in our kitchen. That is how life sometimes is with DIYers. Especially those that have young children! But, while the kids and I were in Fayetteville Brax and his dad tiled our backsplash and added under-cabinet lighting for us. We chose a white subway tile for most of it. The contrasting line is a strip of dark gray metal molding. I'm so pleased with how it turned out! Here are before pictures.

 

 

 

Keeping Up with the Joneses

Preston is one of Brax's best friends from college. He and his wife Eydie and their new baby Jackson were in Birmingham last weekend for Preston to be the guest preacher at his parents' church. We went down to see them because we hadn't met Jackson yet. Mae loved reading with Preston's dad and Thomas thought Preston was one of the most fun people he had ever been around.
