Sweet Baby Mae

It started snowing again right after Mae got up from her afternoon nap. I didn't actually get any snow in the pictures, but some sweet pictures of Mae's face. She's starting to look so big!

 

 

Snow

Well, we didn't get the great snow that our Arkansas or Birmingham or Georgia friends got, but we did get a little. And it was Mae's first time in the snow. Basically it just made her wet and she wasn't a fan...Thomas had a great time though.

 

First Ready to Smock Dress

For my birthday, Brax's parents got me FIVE ready to smock dresses for Mae. This is great because I can do the fun part, which is the smocking and not have to make the dress. :) I got them in all different sizes. I just finished one a couple of days ago. This will be for Mae's one year pictures, and probably her dedication (and possibly Easter if I don't get her Easter dress made...).

 

 

Mae is WALKING!!!

Mae has done things developmentally before Thomas did. I know this is normal for a second child. Thomas didn't walk until 16 months and I was sure that Mae would walk WAY sooner than that! She showed signs early of being interested, and I was sure that she would walk by her first birthday. I was wrong. 9 days short of 15 months, Mae is now walking! She's been able to walk 4-5 steps between Brax and me, but has had to be coaxed. Today I was talking to Thomas and I looked up and she had just stood up in the middle of the floor and was walking toward me! So fun! Here are some pictures. (And yes she is wearing only one shoe and sock. Much like bows, or barrettes, Mae is not interested in having anything on her feet!) Also, there's a very poor quality video that I took on my phone. We don't know how to upload from our video camera to our computer (I know, pathetic!).

 

Customer Service is NOT Dead!!!

Back, right before Mae was born we bought this double stroller. Part of the reason that we liked it was that we were still planning to go to London with the kids, and we really liked that the seats both popped off and could turn either way. Well, it's been my faithful walking stroller since Mae was born, but for some reason the handle stopped snapping into place. So, I contacted BabiesRUs, and of course since I didn't have my receipt and it had been over a year they couldn't do anything. But, before giving up I decided I would email Kolcraft, who made the stroller. A few days and many emails later they said that they would replace my stroller!

 

It turns out ours isn't in stock, and won't be till March, so we're getting this upgrade for $30! We've been rethinking our stroller needs, and think we're probably going to sell this one and get a double jogging stroller, but how great to have a brand new one to sell instead of a broken one! This one comes with some great new stuff including an iPod dock!!

 

Then, a couple of weeks ago I was making these and this happened! (Actually the top had broken off when this had happened before, but I realized that it could be dangerous for my kids!) So, I contacted Sunbeam and explained that even though I'd had my breadmaker for awhile (like 5 years!) I didn't think it was ok for it to vibrate off the counter. And they're sending me a new one!!! This is already on it's way to my house. It's not the same one I had, it's nicer!

So, have anything laying around your house that needs replacing, why not email? Worst thing they can do is say no!

Ringling Brothers Circus

On Wednesday night PaPa and MiMi took Brax, Thomas and me to the circus. Mae stayed home with babysitter Megan so we could all have an enjoyable time! In addition to this being Thomas's first circus, it was also mine! We got there an hour before it started so we could go down on the floor and see some extra stuff. Thomas got his picture taken with a clown and we got to see one of the elephants up close. It was amazing. Especially the acrobats and motorcycles in the steel cage. Thomas liked it, and did great considering it started 30 minutes after his bedtime. He didn't go to bed till 10, which we think is the latest he's been up since he was about 2 1/2 months old! According to him, his favorite part was the popcorn! :)
*In moving these pictures from my camera to the computer I did something I have not done in the whole time I've had a digital camera; I deleted some accidentally. I hit cancel in the middle because I wanted the pictures to go to a different file, and the 2nd half of the pictures never made it to the computer. Yikes! So, that's why the only picture of PaPa and MiMi is from the back.

 

 

 

 

Museum and Lunch

 

The other day MiMi came up to go to Earlyworks with us. We had a fun time, although the indoor play area was closed due to ant treatment. So instead we explored the rest of the museum. Thomas loved looking at all the different hands on exhibits and Mae loved crawling all over the rubber floor! After a little while we were hungry so we went to Rosie's for lunch. If you're ever in Huntsville and you like Mexican food you should TOTALLY eat at Rosie's. It is the BEST!!! MiMi even came in a snuggled for a few minutes before naps! We love living close to this half of our family!
