We're Still Here!

Hey Blog Friends! Still there? We are! We've been really busy doing normal life things that don't warrant pictures. Like...

Making it through the first month of Kindergarten. It's been a mostly smooth transition, with just a few bumps. I've gotta tell you, I'm a lot more tired than I thought I would be. And who knew 7:00am could go from "early" to "sleeping in" in a matter of weeks?!?!?! We just had Thomas's first parent/teacher conference. Thomas's teacher was very encouraging and called him a delight, hilarious and a challenge all in the same 25 minutes. Yep, that pretty much sums him up!

Here he is working on homework. Cutting "m" words out of magazines.

 

Mae has settled WONDERFULLY into school. Way more easily than I expected. AND we're potty training. It.has.not.been.easy. BUT, I think we may have turned a corner, even in the last 24 hours. I sure hope so. I gotta tell you, I'm a lot more tired than I thought I would be.

Our fall calendar has exploded between soccer, vacation, Girls' weekend, football, small group and life. Somewhere in there I'm just trying to get the laundry done! I just perfomed in a Memorial concert on Sunday for the 10 year anniversary of 9.11.01. It was so special! I'm taking the rest of the fall off, just because of our crazy schedule. I don't expect you to watch, but you can get a feel for it if you're so inclined!

Funnies

Kim: What kind of slush do you want?
Mae (in a very white shirt!): I want Blue Coconut. Don't worry Mom. I won't get any on my cat socks.

Kim: Do you want your tennis shoes, your Mary Janes or your pink sandals?
Mae: I want my Kati Anns

Kim: What did you do at school today?
Mae: We don't throw toys.
Kim: Ok, but what did you do?
Mae: We don't throw paint.

Thomas: I'm getting tired of red being my favorite color.
Kim: Ok, what's your new favorite color?
Thomas: Well, it's still red. But, soon it will be green.

Thomas (looking VERY guilty): I need to tell you something. I wanted to know how long the drain was, so I put Mae's toothbrush down there. It's stuck.

Mae (looking out the window of the van during the carpool line): It's ok boy. You're not Thomas.

Rainboots

Last week we had literally 48 hours straight of rain. It was crazy!!!! But since there were no storms we let the kids enjoy some time in it! They had a great time! And what's cuter than pictures of kids in rain boots?!

 

 

 

 

Pops and Gram came to Town

Over Labor Day weekend we had a huge treat. Gram AND Pops came to visit us. Because of his busy travel schedule we don't always get to see Pops at our house, but this time it worked and it was great! We got to spend 4.5 days with Gram and 3 days with Pops. We watched football, went thrift storing (yeah, it's not a word), ate lots of cookies and generally relaxed. We really just enjoyed being with them, and so I didn't take very many pictures. It was delightful! Come again!
